Yurlok brings back mana burn. Whenever any player loses unspent mana, they lose that much life. For {1} and a tap, Yurlok makes each player add {B}{R}{G}, so every opponent gets three mana they probably can't use and takes 3 when it empties. Vigilance lets Yurlok attack and still tap later. The deck pairs this with mana doublers and taxing effects, so opponents end up with more mana than they can spend while you put yours into big spells and mana sinks.
In the recorded games, Yurlok played as a slow group slug deck. Each activation chipped at the table, and opponents had to plan their turns around floating mana. The main combo put Umbral Mantle on Yurlok next to a mana doubler, so each untap paid for the next while opponents' pools kept filling and burning. Some lists swung with the commander or other creatures for extra pressure. Assembling the combo took time, though, and the deck relied on it to close. Timely removal on Yurlok blunted both the burn plan and the early attacks.
