Will has vigilance and one key ability: tap him at sorcery speed and your white and blue spells cost X less that turn, where X is the life you gained this turn. The discount only comes off generic mana, so gaining six life turns Approach of the Second Sun into a single white. The deck packs cheap lifegain sources to fire first, then spends the discount on expensive draw spells, extra turns and finishers that would normally take most of the game to cast.

In the recorded games, Approach of the Second Sun was the main win, sometimes cast twice in one stretch thanks to a big lifegain turn. Time Warp and Enter the Infinite showed up as the payoff for a large discount. Serra Ascendant gave an early body, and Mangara, the Diplomat and Ajani, Strength of the Pride helped hold the table back while the life total climbed. Leyline of Anticipation let some lists play at instant speed. The weak spot was pressure. Will's deck often played defense for too long and could not stop a faster combo player before it went off, and a missed land drop early made the whole plan slow.
