The Howling Abomination has haste and gains trample once you've cast three or more spells in a turn. Whenever it becomes the target of a spell, it gets +2/+2 until end of turn and deals 2 damage to each opponent. Every cheap pump, cantrip or protection spell aimed at it is both a power boost and a small burn spell for the whole table. The deck is built around inexpensive targeted instants and sorceries and aims for lethal commander damage in one big trampling attack.
In the recorded games, the clearest win came from targeting The Howling Abomination with Titan's Strength and Twinferno. Each spell added +2/+2 and dealt 2 damage to every opponent, and double strike turned the pumped body into lethal damage. One list also used Rishkar's Expertise for cards and Ilharg, the Raze-Boar to put big creatures into attacks. Opponents used blockers and careful timing to blunt the early aggression. The deck needs several targeted spells in one turn, and it depends heavily on one creature surviving.
