Teval is a flying, lifelink dragon that gives every spell you cast delve, so cards in your graveyard pay for generic mana. The catch is a second trigger: whenever you cast a spell, you lose life equal to its mana value. Delve lowers what you pay, not the mana value, so a seven-drop still costs you seven life. The deck mills itself to fill the graveyard, casts big threats for a few lands and leans on Teval's lifelink to win back what it spends.
In the recorded games, the plan was mostly self-mill into expensive spells, including big Eldrazi cast for a fraction of their cost. Life management was the constant tension, since every big spell took a real chunk out of the life total, and some lists ran cards that stop life totals from changing to cover it. One game saw Demonic Consultation exile the whole library, and the deck still kept going and cast Rhystic Study afterward.
