Syr Konrad deals 1 damage to each opponent whenever another creature dies, a creature card is put into a graveyard from anywhere other than the battlefield, or a creature card leaves your graveyard. That covers deaths, discards, mill and reanimation. His own {1}{B} ability makes every player mill a card, so any creature among them pings the table. The deck plays creature-heavy mill, sacrifice outlets, reanimation and board wipes, and turns all of that card movement into damage.
In the recorded games, Mindcrank was the key combo piece: every ping made opponents mill, and each creature milled pinged again. It did not always go off, though, since one attempt fizzled when too few creatures were milled. Dreadhound, Necrotic Ooze with Walking Ballista, Bastion of Remembrance and Pestilence Demon also turned up, and Morality Shift dumped the library into the graveyard for a huge turn. Board wipes became damage for the whole table. Opponents attacked carefully around Konrad. The deck was mana hungry on combo turns, and milling noncreature cards cut off the damage.
