Slimefoot and Squee make a 1/1 Saproling when they enter and each time they attack. For {1}{B}{R}{G} and a sacrificed Saproling, you return them from your graveyard to the battlefield along with up to one other creature card, at sorcery speed. The deck fills the graveyard with self-mill and sacrifice outlets, then uses the commander to bring itself back with a strong creature attached. Since it makes Saprolings on its own, the recursion keeps itself fed.
In the recorded games, Goblin Bombardment and Skullclamp were the main ways to turn Saprolings into damage and cards. Living Death, sometimes cast twice, swung boards in Slimefoot's favor, and Birthing Pod and Metamorphosis Fanatic added more creature value. Faster lists played Dockside Extortionist and Demonic Consultation. The deck struggled when it missed early land drops or a turn-one mana creature. It had little instant-speed interaction and few board wipes, so aura-based voltron and fast combo got past it. Graveyard hate and counterspells on key pieces like Goblin Bombardment also hurt it.
