Sam, Loyal Attendant

$0.43

Sam is a 2/4 that makes a Food token at the beginning of combat on your turn, and your Foods cost {1} less to activate, so each one gains 3 life for {1}. He has partner with Frodo, Adventurous Hobbit, which puts the pair in white, black and green. The timing matters. You can crack the new Food before attacks, gaining exactly the 3 life Frodo needs for the Ring to tempt you, and from the second temptation on he draws a card as your Ring-bearer.

In the recorded games, Sam played a support role. He kept Food coming every turn, which fed Frodo's Ring triggers and steady life gain. Belladonna Took was a standout, since each Food is a token and her trigger gains life, draws a card or pumps the team depending on how many tokens you made that turn. The pair rarely threatened a fast kill. Only eight games were recorded, and the deck showed more of a slow value engine that gains life and draws a card here and there than a clear finishing plan.
