Roon is a 4/4 with vigilance and trample, and for {2} and a tap it exiles another target creature, which returns under its owner's control at the beginning of the next end step. On your own creatures that's a repeatable flicker for card draw, ramp or removal. On an opponent's creature it removes a blocker or attacker for the turn and resets tokens or counters. The deck fills up on creatures with strong enter-the-battlefield effects and plays a slow, reactive game.
In the recorded games, Restoration Angel, Eternal Witness, Solemn Simulacrum and Voidmage Husher were common flicker targets, and Deadeye Navigator with Venser, Shaper Savant kept bouncing opposing threats. Yorion, Sky Nomad gave bigger end-step value, Detention Sphere handled permanents, and Peregrine Drake or Regal Behemoth powered larger turns. The deck recovered well after board wipes. Its problem was speed: the value often wasn't enough to stop a fast combo, and it lost to infect, a storm turn and a Breya combo while it was still building up. Pilots also noted it lacked explosive plays without a tap or untap engine.
