Progenitus is a 10/10 with protection from everything. It can't be blocked, targeted, enchanted or equipped, and all damage dealt to it is prevented. If it would go to a graveyard, it gets shuffled into your library instead, though you can send it to the command zone. Two hits kill most players with commander damage. The catch is its cost of {W}{W}{U}{U}{B}{B}{R}{R}{G}{G}, so the deck is mostly fixing and ramp. Exile effects and non-targeted wipes are still the real answers.
In the recorded games, decks varied a lot. Most ran heavy ramp, mana rocks and fetch lands, with Fist of Suns and Exotic Orchard to fix colors and Crucible of Worlds to reuse lands. Some games swapped plans entirely, aiming for Coalition Victory, a Maze's End lands build with Amulet of Vigor, or an enchantress shell. Fog effects bought time against big attacks. When Progenitus resolved, it was a persistent threat opponents couldn't remove. The common problem was speed: fast elf and creature decks pressured it before it set up, and Reclamation Sage on Amulet of Vigor slowed the ramp.
