Preston, the Vanisher
$59.75
$59.75Legendary Creature — Rabbit Wizard
Mono-white blink that copies every flickered creature as a 0/1 Illusion, doubling enter effects and saving Illusions to exile permanents.
Whenever another nontoken creature enters under your control without being cast, Preston makes a token copy of it as a 0/1 white Illusion. The copy keeps the creature's abilities, so a blinked creature with an enter trigger fires twice: once from returning and once from the Illusion. Reanimation and put-onto-the-battlefield effects count too. Once you have five Illusions, {1}{W} and sacrificing them exiles any nonland permanent, which turns spare tokens into removal.
In the recorded games, with only eight on record, Preston was a slow value deck. Cloudshift and Acrobatic Maneuver were the key tricks, blinking creatures in response to attacks or removal and making an extra copy at the same time. Cloudshift on Inspiring Overseer dodged an attack and drew two cards with the Illusion. Elite Spellbinder taxed opponents' spells, and some lists used foretell and adventure cards. The exile ability came online late, since five Illusions take a while to gather. It works best as a grindy deck and struggles against faster tables.
