Phylath, World Sculptor

$0.31

When Phylath enters, you create a 0/1 Plant token for each basic land you control. After that, every land you play or fetch puts four +1/+1 counters on a target Plant. So the deck plays lots of basics, holds Phylath until the board can support it, and leans on ramp that puts extra lands onto the battlefield. A single fetch spell can grow two Plants or turn one into a large attacker.

In the recorded games, basic land ramp like Nature's Lore did most of the work, quickly growing a crowd of Plants into real threats. The deck held up under pressure from aggressive starts because the tokens kept blocking and growing. Craterhoof Behemoth was the main finisher when the Plants went wide. Several builds were budget lists heavy on basics. The weakness showed when Phylath got bounced along with pumped tokens, which erased all the counters and set the plan back. With only nine games, the patterns are thin, but it reliably built a strong board if left alone early.
