Old Rutstein mills one card when it enters and again at the start of each of your upkeeps. What gets milled decides the reward: a land makes a Treasure, a creature makes a 1/1 Insect, and anything else makes a Blood token for rummaging. The 1/4 body blocks well early, and the steady trickle of tokens and graveyard cards gives the deck fuel for reanimation, recursion and sacrifice effects.
In the recorded games, the deck played as a slow value engine. Eternal Witness and other recursion kept rebuilding the board, and reanimation spells brought back the best creatures after removal. A few lists used Food Chain for big mana turns and Finale of Devastation or Concordant Crossroads to close the game. It held up well against aggro once the midgame arrived. Artifact-based control slowly outlasted it, and fast token decks with heavy ramp got under it before the engine did much. Graveyard hate like Stranglehold also shut down a lot of its lines.
