Neheb, the Eternal

$8.00

Neheb has afflict 3, so if he gets blocked the defending player loses 3 life anyway. At the beginning of each of your postcombat main phases, you add {R} for every point of life your opponents lost this turn. That counts combat damage, burn cast before combat and any other life loss, so a turn where the table loses 20 life gives you 20 red mana. The deck pushes damage early in the turn, then spends the second main phase on X spells, dragons and combo pieces.

In the recorded games, Dragon's Approach showed up again and again, hitting each opponent for 3 per copy and eventually fetching dragons from the library. Aggravated Assault turned Neheb's postcombat mana into extra combat steps, each one feeding the next, and Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker with Zealous Conscripts or Splinter Twin set up infinite hasty attackers. Heartless Hidetsugu and Earthquake hurt everyone at once, and Chandra, Torch of Defiance handled removal. The deck often started slowly and carried little protection. Removal on Neheb before combat stalled the whole plan, and losing the board before the postcombat phase meant no mana at all.
