Minsc enters with Boo, a legendary 1/1 Hamster with trample and haste. His real job is the {X} ability: at sorcery speed, a creature you control has base power and toughness X/X. Pay X=0 and the creature dies, which turns Minsc into a free sacrifice outlet. That is the engine behind the cEDH build. Kill Protean Hulk to fetch combo creatures, or kill Academy Rector to find Pattern of Rebirth. On a fair turn, the same ability turns Boo or any small creature into a huge trampling attacker.
In the recorded games, most Minsc decks were cEDH Hulk lists. Academy Rector, Pattern of Rebirth and Protean Hulk set up the kill, Survival of the Fittest and Chord of Calling found pieces, and Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker with Felidar Guardian was the backup combo. Gaea's Cradle, Carpet of Flowers and Natural Order supplied the speed. Slower builds pumped attackers or looped Broadside Bombardiers with Karmic Guide. The deck lost to stack interaction like Cryptic Command, to Magus of the Moon and Glacial Chasm, and to bounce and removal on key creatures. Pitching a combo piece early, or having Survival removed, left it short on tutors in Naya colors.
