Malcolm is a 2/1 flash flyer for two. Each time it deals combat damage to a player, it gets a chorus counter and you draw a card, then discard one. Once Malcolm has four or more chorus counters, you may cast the discarded card for free. So the deck needs Malcolm to connect four times, then discard expensive spells to cheat them out each hit. Proliferate and other ways to add counters speed that clock up.
In the recorded games, Malcolm played as an evasive tempo threat that looted steadily while counterspells and bounce kept opponents off balance. Mystic Remora showed up early as a draw engine, and once the counters were in place, a free Ugin, the Spirit Dragon proved a big swing. Proliferate let it reach four counters faster. With only eight games the data is thin. Its main weakness is a 2/1 body, so cheap removal and bounce reset its counters. Against slower decks that couldn't block flyers well, the card flow tended to win out.
