Whenever another nontoken creature enters under your control, Lonis investigates. You can tap him and sacrifice X Clues to have an opponent reveal their top X cards, then put a nonland permanent with mana value X or less from among them onto the battlefield under your control. Most lists treat Clues as both card draw and a way to steal threats, and run cheap creatures, mana dorks like Wall of Roots and Quirion Ranger, and tutors for combo pieces.
In the recorded games, the best-known combo was Shrieking Drake with Academy Manufactor. Each recast makes a Clue, a Food and a Treasure, and the Treasure pays for the next Drake. That gives endless tokens to draw into a finisher like Thassa's Oracle. Rhystic Study, Mystic Remora and Consecrated Sphinx kept hands full, and Chord of Calling found pieces. Lonis also stole cards like an opposing Mystic Remora. Weak spots were fast combo decks, Torpor Orb, Hullbreacher, Orcish Bowmasters and early interaction like Abrupt Decay. Counterspells and Pact of Negation stopped several lethal turns.
