Liberator is a 1/2 flying Thopter with flash, and it lets you cast colorless spells and artifact spells as though they had flash. Whenever you cast a spell with more mana spent than Liberator's power, it gets a +1/+1 counter. Early on almost every spell grows it, so it can turn into a real evasive threat. The deck runs artifact ramp, equipment and big colorless threats, holding them up on other players' turns.
In the recorded games, Mystic Forge was the standout card, casting artifacts off the top of the library for steady card advantage and more Liberator counters. Urza's Saga added a construct and fetched a cheap artifact. Flashing in Burnished Hart or an artifact creature mid-combat caught opponents off guard. Equipment like Sword of Hearth and Home made Liberator a Voltron threat, and Aetherflux Reservoir appeared as a combo finish. Artifact removal hit the deck hardest. Recursive creature decks also outlasted it in longer games.
