Klothys, God of Destiny

$2.90

Klothys is indestructible and stays an enchantment until your devotion to red and green reaches seven. At the start of your first main phase, she exiles a card from any graveyard. A land gives you {R} or {G}. Anything else drains each opponent for 2 and gains you 2 life. That is a guaranteed trigger every turn that is very hard to remove, and it also eats opponents' graveyard resources. Builds lean into it with land destruction to keep land cards in graveyards, damage enchantments and cheap disruption.

In the recorded games, most Klothys decks played slow, attrition-heavy games. Land destruction and forced land sacrifice kept opponents short on mana while Klothys fed on the lands in the yard. Damage enchantments like Burning Earth, Manabarbs, Spellshock and Pyrohemia added a steady drain, and Sylvan Library kept the cards flowing. Faster lists combined Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker with Zealous Conscripts for an infinite combo, or used Aggravated Assault for extra combats. Wins usually came late after a board wipe or many turns of drain. Lifegain decks such as Heliod and land-heavy decks like Titania held up best against it, and the deck sometimes fell behind on board while spending turns on disruption.
