Karona is a 5/5 with haste, but at the beginning of each player's upkeep that player untaps it and takes control of it. Whenever Karona attacks, its current controller chooses a creature type and those creatures get +3/+3 until end of turn. So every player gets to swing with it, and the deck needs to benefit from that more than the table does. Builds vary widely, from enchantress and aura packages to tribal decks, politics and group hug.
In the recorded games, Karona rarely played the same way twice. Enchantress builds drew cards and stuck auras on creatures, some lists added extra combats, and others leaned into goad and forced attacks to steer damage away from themselves. Players sometimes made deals with Karona's buff, choosing a type that helped both of them. Early ramp like Cultivate mattered because five colors needed fixing. The aura plans were slow and lost to board wipes and focused attacks, and opponents could pick their own type when they got Karona.
