Kamahl, Heart of Krosa

$3.20

At the beginning of combat on your turn, Kamahl gives every creature you control +3/+3 and trample. A board of mana elves becomes a real army, and for {1}{G} he turns a land into a 1/1 indestructible, hasty creature that also gets the bonus. With partner he usually came paired with Jeska, Thrice Reborn for red burn and her triple damage ability. The deck ramps hard with Elvish Mystic and other mana creatures, then turns that board into attackers.

In the recorded games, Kamahl decks played as elf ramp or plain Gruul stompy. The best turns combined his pump with extra combat effects for a lot of damage at once, and some lists looked for infinite mana with the elves. Lightning Greaves protected key creatures while the deck built up. Opposition Agent was a real problem, since it stole the land searches the ramp needed. With only twelve games recorded, the clear pattern was simple: ramp, go wide, then swing with everything once the board was big enough.
