At your end step, Jon Irenicus hands one of your creatures to a target opponent, with two +1/+1 counters and tapped. It is goaded for the rest of the game, so it attacks each combat and avoids you if possible, and it can't be sacrificed. Whenever a creature you own but don't control attacks, you draw a card. Every gift turns into a card per turn and pressure on the other players. The deck runs cheap creatures, ideally ones that hurt their new owner.
In the recorded games, Jon played as a political, controlling deck that drew cards off its donations while staying out of combat. Changeling Outcast was an early gift that attacked unblocked and drew steadily. Mimic Vat and Mystic Reflection copied creatures for more value, and Gilded Drake swapped for something better. One list used Altar of the Brood to mill the table slowly. The plan is slow, and giving creatures away leaves Jon with few blockers of his own if opponents gang up.
