Inferno of the Star Mounts is a 6/6 flier with haste that can't be countered. Its {R} ability gives +1/+0 until end of turn. When its power becomes 20 this way, it deals 20 damage to any target. Fourteen red mana from a fresh cast is enough to kill a player. With extra pumps in combat, you can attack one opponent and burn another. The deck is built around big red mana: rituals, treasures and ways to double mana, plus other dragons as backup threats.
In the recorded games, the plan was clear to everyone at the table: build mana and turn Inferno into a burn spell. Seething Song gave a quick burst, Ancient Copper Dragon left piles of treasure, and Chandra, Dressed to Kill added mana and chip damage. Some lists ran infinite mana combos, so Inferno could pump without limit. With only seven games recorded, those were the patterns that showed up. Because Inferno threatens to finish a player once it resolves, opponents had to keep removal ready. A slow start or losing the mana sources could stall it.
