Gisa, the Hellraiser

$6.33

Any time you commit a crime, which means targeting an opponent, something they control or a card in their graveyard, Gisa makes two tapped 2/2 Zombie Rogues. That triggers once per turn, so the deck runs lots of cheap targeted spells, removal, discard and abilities that point at opponents. Gisa also gives your Zombies and Skeletons +1/+1 and menace, which turns every token into a 3/3 that needs two blockers. Ward of {2} plus 2 life makes her harder to remove.

In the recorded games, the plan was simple and steady: commit a crime each turn and let the horde grow. Dread Summons produced a burst of Zombies in one turn, and Idol of Oblivion drew cards off the token stream. Hex Parasite and other repeatable targeted effects kept the trigger online on turns with nothing else to do. Sacrifice outlets and drain effects turned spare Zombies into life loss and helped the board survive removal, while graveyard recursion brought back key creatures. Most wins came from wide menace attacks. Opponents treated the growing army as the biggest threat and pointed their removal and sweepers at it, which was the usual way the deck lost momentum.
