Ghen, Arcanum Weaver

$0.35

Ghen has one ability: pay {R}{W}{B}, tap him and sacrifice an enchantment to return any enchantment card from your graveyard to the battlefield. The returned card doesn't have to cost less, so a cheap aura or token-making enchantment can turn into a big one that you discarded or lost earlier. Because the swap is a sacrifice, enchantments with useful leave or enter effects get value on both ends. Decks fill the graveyard on purpose and treat Ghen as a reanimator for one card type.

In the recorded games, the sample was small, so read this loosely. Ghen played as a slow value deck rather than combo or aggro. The plan that showed up most was putting expensive enchantments into the graveyard and pulling them back with Ghen while sacrificing cheaper ones. Enchantments with enter effects got used more than once, and the board became hard to answer card by card. Opponents spent turns reacting to it, which slowed their own plans. Combat was rarely the focus, and Ghen needs three colors of mana plus a tap each turn, so he does little the turn he comes down.
