Gavi, Nest Warden

$0.35

Gavi lets you pay {0} instead of the cycling cost for the first card you cycle each turn, every turn including opponents'. Whenever you draw your second card in a turn, you create a 2/2 Dinosaur Cat. On your own turn, one free cycle after your draw step is already a token. On other turns you need two draws, so cheap cyclers and cantrips matter. The deck runs cycling lands and spells, cycling payoffs and tools to make the tokens count.

In the recorded games, Gavi was a steady value deck that rarely ran out of cards or blockers. Astral Slide and Astral Drift turned cycling into removal and protection, and Teferi's Ageless Insight doubled draws. Some lists ran Escape Protocol or Divergent Transformations for combo lines. The most explosive win came from Shared Animosity and Akroma's Will on a wide Cat board, which took out two players in one attack. Herald of the Forgotten and Decree of Silence showed up too. Faster combo decks and big token swarms sometimes outpaced it, since the deck builds slowly.
