Etrata can't be blocked. When it deals combat damage to a player, you exile a creature that player controls with a hit counter, and they lose the game once they own three cards with hit counters in exile. Then Etrata shuffles into your library, though as a commander you can send it to the command zone instead. Paying commander tax every hit adds up fast, so the deck plays bounce and blink to save Etrata in response to the trigger, plus ninjas and evasive creatures.
In the recorded games, sample size was small, and the hit-counter clock did shape how the table played. Opponents had to keep creatures around to lose, and the threat of three exiles made Etrata a priority target. Ninjutsu let the pilot swap unblocked attackers for ninjas and draw extra cards, while Staff of Nin and Endless Atlas gave steady card advantage. Cabal Coffers powered up the mana in one list. The deck needed time to land three hits, and it fell behind when board wipes or removal kept Etrata off the table.
