Etrata has deathtouch, and whenever an Assassin you control deals combat damage to an opponent, you cloak the top card of that player's library. It becomes a face-down 2/2 with ward 2 on your side. Face-down creatures you control can pay {2}{U}{B} to turn face up. If the card can't be turned face up, such as a noncreature spell, you exile it and may cast it for free. The deck plays evasive and cheap Assassins to keep the triggers coming.
In the recorded games, Etrata won through small, repeated hits. Assassins connected, opponents' cards piled up face down on Etrata's side, and each turn offered more stolen spells or creatures to flip. Because the cloaked cards came from other decks, the board was hard for anyone to read. The deck stayed aggressive and steady rather than explosive, and Etrata's deathtouch made her a poor target for attacks. Wide token decks gummed up combat and made it harder to connect, and cheap blockers stopped the cloak triggers.
