Whenever Emmara becomes tapped, you create a 1/1 white Soldier with lifelink. Attacking works, but the deck prefers ways to tap her without combat, such as mana abilities, convoke or untap effects, so it can make several tokens a turn. The Soldiers then become fuel for anthems and token payoffs. The lifelink keeps the life total healthy while the board grows.
In the recorded games, Paradise Mantle let Emmara tap for mana and make a Soldier without attacking, a line that showed up repeatedly. Earthcraft and Throne of the God-Pharaoh worked together, tapping creatures for mana and draining opponents for each tapped creature at end of turn. Divine Visitation turned the Soldiers into 4/4 flying Angels, the biggest jump in power the deck had. The lifelink helped against burn decks. Heavy removal and sweepers slowed the deck, and it needed a few turns of steady tokens before it could win.
