Elesh Norn is a 4/7 vigilance for five with two static abilities. When a permanent entering triggers an ability of a permanent you control, that ability triggers an additional time. Permanents entering don't cause abilities of your opponents' permanents to trigger at all. So your Fiend Hunter exiles two creatures and Sun Titan returns two things, while opposing token makers and value creatures lose their entry triggers. The deck is full of creatures with strong enter abilities plus flicker spells to reuse them.
In the recorded games, Elesh Norn often warped the table the moment it landed, since decks built on enter triggers had to change plans. Cloudshift and other blink effects reused removal creatures and could save Norn from targeted removal, as happened against Anguished Unmaking. Weathered Wayfarer and Priest of Ancient Lore smoothed early land drops and cards, and Cathars' Crusade turned doubled triggers into a fast-growing team. Some lists pushed into stax pieces. Its weak spots were Swords to Plowshares on Norn, early aggression that kept it from settling in, and games where it missed land drops.
