Commodore Guff is a planeswalker commander. At the beginning of your end step he puts a loyalty counter on another planeswalker you control. His +1 makes a 1/1 Wizard that taps for {R} to cast planeswalker spells. His -3 draws X cards and deals X damage to each opponent, where X is the number of planeswalkers you control. The deck is full of planeswalkers, proliferate and sweepers that protect them, so Guff can fire that -3 for real damage.
In the recorded games, Guff gave a steady stream of Wizard tokens, card draw and extra loyalty. Chandra, Torch of Defiance and Chandra, Awakened Inferno pulled ahead early, and proliferate from Deepglow Skate pushed several walkers toward their ultimates. Honor-Worn Shaku used the walkers for mana, and Promise of Loyalty cleared away creature threats. Leori, Sparktouched Hunter copied loyalty abilities for big turns. Sweepers kept the walkers safe, and the -3 burned the whole table. The downside was attention. Once several walkers were out, the table treated the Guff player as the main threat and focused him down.
