Child of Alara is a 5-mana 6/6 trampler. When it dies, it destroys all nonland permanents, and they can't be regenerated. Lands survive, so the deck leans on ramp, landfall and lands that make value. You can attack with a big trampler, then sacrifice it or let it die to wipe everything else while your mana stays. The commander returns to the command zone for the next cycle.
In the recorded games, the builds varied a lot, so treat this as a loose picture. Most leaned on lands, with Oracle of Mul Daya, Summer Bloom and Ancient Greenwarden for extra land drops and Seismic Assault to clear creatures. One list gained huge life with Titania, Protector of Argoth and Zuran Orb, and another tried Coalition Victory. The threat of the death trigger made opponents cautious. Weak spots were five-color mana, a lack of a clear way to close the game, and exile effects that dodged the wipe.
