When Be'lakor enters, you draw X cards and lose X life, where X is the number of Demons you control, himself included. Whenever another Demon enters under your control, it deals damage equal to its power to any target. The deck fills its curve with demons, so each one is removal or burn on arrival. Flicker effects, clones and token copies let the draw and damage triggers happen again, and some builds cheat demons in with Shadowborn Apostle.
In the recorded games, Molten Echoes and Panharmonicon multiplied triggers, and Urza's Incubator made demons cheaper. Warstorm Surge doubled the damage effect, and Kindred Dominance cleared the board while keeping the demons. One list flickered Dockside Extortionist with Deadeye Navigator for infinite mana. Be'lakor often worked as removal, picking off creatures as demons landed. The life loss from big draws added up, and the slower, controlling builds struggled against tables with several aggressive decks. It also needed demons to survive early board wipes before the engine took off.
