Anikthea, Hand of Erebos
$4.61
$4.61Legendary Enchantment Creature — Demigod
Abzan enchantress that fills the graveyard with enchantments and brings them back as 3/3 menace Zombie copies for value and pressure.
Anikthea is a 4/4 menace for five, and other enchantment creatures you control have menace too. Whenever she enters or attacks, you exile up to one non-Aura enchantment card from your graveyard and create a token copy of it that is also a 3/3 black Zombie creature. Each attack brings an enchantment back with its abilities intact, and since the copy is an enchantment creature, it gets menace as well. The deck plays enchantress draw, constellation cards and self-mill or sacrifice to stock the graveyard.
In the recorded games, the deck played as a grindy enchantress list that recovered well from board wipes. Boon of the Spirit Realm was a favorite copy target, and Sigil of the Empty Throne, Composer of Spring and Doomwake Giant showed up for tokens, ramp and removal. Replenish returned a whole graveyard at once, Aura Shards included. One recorded win came from a Seal of Cleansing loop with Grim Guardian draining the table. Propaganda bought time against attackers, and the deck held up well against creature-heavy aggro. It was slow to set up, though, and removing Anikthea early slowed the whole engine down.
